OnlyFans agency or do it yourself? How to decide
Not every creator needs an agency, and we'd rather tell you that than sign you up for something that doesn't fit. Here's an honest way to think it through.
What you gain with an agency
- Time. Messaging, scheduling, pricing and promotion can take more hours than making the content itself.
- Coverage. A team can answer subscribers at hours you're asleep or offline.
- Experience. A good manager has seen what works across many pages, not just yours.
- Protection. Leak monitoring and takedowns happen consistently instead of when you remember.
What you give up
- A share of earnings. Agencies take a commission, so the extra work they do has to more than cover it.
- Some control over messages. Someone else is talking to your subscribers. That's why a written voice guide and limits matter.
- Trust. You're letting a business into your account. The wrong agency can do real damage, which is why the contract matters so much.
Signs you're ready for management
- Messages are piling up and you're missing sales because you can't reply fast enough.
- You're spending more time on admin than on creating.
- Your page has plateaued and you don't know what to change.
- You want to grow on social media but don't have time to do it safely.
- Leaks are taking up headspace you'd rather spend elsewhere.
Signs you might be better off on your own, for now
- You enjoy messaging and it's working.
- You want complete control over every word sent in your name.
- You're still figuring out what kind of page you want to run.
Even then, a good agency should be happy to talk it through, with no pressure to sign.
If you do hire one, protect yourself
Keep the account in your name, keep your login, make sure payouts go to you, and never agree to a lock-in or exit fee. Our guide 12 questions to ask before you sign walks through it in full.
