How to protect your OnlyFans content from leaks
Leaks are one of the most common worries for creators, and one of the most fixable. Here's how takedowns work, what to do the moment you find a leak, and the habits that make leaks less likely to begin with.
First, the good news: you own your content
In the United States and many other countries, photos and videos you create are protected by copyright from the moment you make them. That gives you a legal tool, the DMCA takedown notice, to have copies removed from websites and search results.
What to do when you find a leak
1. Document it before you do anything else
Take screenshots of the page, and save the exact web address of every place your content appears. You'll need these links for the takedown notices.
2. Send a takedown notice to the site
Most legitimate websites have a copyright or DMCA contact, often linked in the footer. Your notice identifies the content as yours, lists the links, and asks for removal. Keep it factual and professional.
3. Ask search engines to delist the links
Even if a site ignores you, Google and Bing both accept copyright removal requests. Once approved, the leaked pages stop showing up in search, which is where most people would find them.
4. Report it on social platforms
Reddit, X, Telegram and others have their own copyright reporting forms. Report each account or post that's sharing your work.
5. Keep checking
Leaked content tends to get re-uploaded. Searching your stage name and usernames regularly, and acting quickly, is what keeps it under control.
Habits that make leaks less likely
- Watermark your content with your username, placed where it can't be cropped out easily.
- Use region blocking if you'd rather people in certain places not see your page at all.
- Be careful with customs. Personalised content is the most traceable, and the most painful to see leaked.
- Keep your stage identity separate from your personal accounts, email and phone number.
Doing it yourself vs. having it handled
Everything above is something you can do on your own. The hard part is time: finding leaks, writing notices and following up adds up quickly. At Avaria, leak monitoring, DMCA takedowns and region blocking are part of our OnlyFans management service, so it gets done every week whether or not you have the energy for it.
